Scriptline: scripts that show their work. Observable, version-controlled TypeScript automation for Jira Cloud: scripts run from a console, on ten kinds of work-item events, on plain-words schedules, behind twelve JQL search functions, as a computed field, or as background bulk jobs. Every run's logs, timing and errors are recorded and replayable, every save is versioned with one-click rollback, and dry run lets you rehearse. Built on Atlassian Forge with zero external egress.
Quick start
- A Jira administrator installs Scriptline from Apps → Explore more apps in Jira and approves the permissions.
- Open Jira Settings (⚙) → Apps → Scriptline - Scripts, Listeners & JQL.
- In the Console, click Run on the pre-filled sample and expect a green OK.
- Pick when the script should run, turn on Dry run and try it.
- Name it and click Save hook, then watch Run history.
The full walkthrough is in Get started.

- Get startedInstall Scriptline on Jira Cloud, run the sample script and save your first hook, step by step.
- The ConsoleWrite, run, rehearse and save TypeScript scripts for Jira in Scriptline's four-step Console, with the full jira.* API reference.
- ListenersRun a TypeScript script automatically when Jira changes: ten event kinds, from created and updated to comments, worklogs and links, scoped per project.
- Scheduled hooksRun Jira scripts on a timetable written in plain words: the schedule builder turns "every weekday at 09:00" into cron and previews the next runs.
- JQL functions and saved searchesScriptline adds twelve JQL functions to Jira search: eleven built-ins like linkedIssuesOf and hasComments, plus hooked() to run your own script as a search.
- Scripted fieldScripted field (Scriptline) is a read-only Jira custom field whose value your script computes per work item, shown on the work item and searchable in JQL.
- Bulk jobsRun a Jira script once per work item matched by a JQL, in the background with progress, error samples and cancel. Dry run lets you rehearse first.
- Versioning and run historyEvery save in Scriptline keeps a version you can roll back to in one click, and every run is recorded with logs, timing, result and line-numbered errors.
- Security and dataHow Scriptline keeps your Jira scripts and data safe: built on Atlassian Forge, zero external egress, admin-only, with data stored on your own site.
- Limits and troubleshootingScriptline limits at a glance (run history, versions, bulk job size, time limits) plus fixes for the most common problems with scripts, listeners and JQL.
- Release notesWhat's new in Scriptline for Jira, latest first. Version 2.0.0 (03/11/2026) is the first release.
